Country Handbag

This country style handbag uses lovely organic colours and includes Avalanche Roses, white Eryngium, green Hypericum and Viburnum opulus.

A simple but stylish handle is created using mikado reeds.

The bag is made of bio-degradable mesh which is filled with hay and sewn up with natural rafia.

The teal coloured ribbon bows add a splash of colour .
Pretty and delicate!

Contemporary Handbag Design

This contemporary handbag design features Cymbidium heads, Dracaena curls, Eucalyptus leaves, bark and yellow reindeer moss.

Creating interesting textures using contemporary techniques!

The handle is created by wrapping the Dracaena around a thick wired wool. Green bullion wire secures it in place and adds a touch of glamour.

The bag is created using 2 blocks of oasis fixed together and then carved into shape. The Cymbidium heads are placed in test tubes and then pushed into the dry foam.

Valentines Design - for the Journal

This Valentines hand tied design features in the February edition of the Yorkshire Journal.

The design uses red Passion Roses, pink Amalia Roses, Safari Sunset, Magestic Red Calla's, Astrantia, Milky Way and red dogwood.

The contemporary heart-shaped frame captures the Valentines theme and creates a real 'wow' factor.

The shape of the hand-crafted frame is created from aluminium wire covered in wool. Bullion wire, beads and wool manipulation techniques block in the frame.

The rich colours and contrasting shapes and textures are beautiful. Perfect for Valentines.

Contemporary Venue Design

This design was created for Definitions, a hair dressers in South Cave. The black and white theme was chosen to match the salons contemporary decor. Gerbera, mini Anthurium and Black Tie leaves were used. The designs structure was created with black twigs, some of which were wrapped in white wool and bullion wire.

Adding a contemporary touch with curled medalino sticks and pearls and leaf manipulation of the Black Tie leaves.

Black cable ties secured the sea horse test tubes to the structure.

The finished design placed on a mirrored plate at the venue.

Christmas Poinsettia with Blue Spruce Collar

This Christmas design uses a hand-made wire frame to create a collar that fits perfectly around the Poinsettia. Small pieces of Blue Spruce are threaded through the framework to create a very seasonal design.

Cinnamon covered pine cones and dried lotus seed heads add the final Christmas touches to the design.

European Inspired Linea Design

A modern and stylish European inspired linear design which features elegant 'green eye' Roses, trailing Amaranthus, Ilex, a green Anthurium leaf, twisted Hazel and green twigs.

The design incorporates a great contrast in colours, shapes and textures.

Bird Nest Inspired Arrangements

A powerful but simple design. Quick and easy to make. Materials used include a single large Protea, Craspedia, Beargrass and flat red medalino sticks.

Circles are created by bending the Beargrass and red medalino.

This birds nest arrangement is much more angluar and features Strelitzia, Craspedia, Steel Grass and orange medalino sticks.

The angluar patterns are created by snapping the steel grass and medalino. This design demonstrates great use of space and colour in modern floristry design.

Contemporary Long and Low Arrangement Using Mikado Reeds

A fresh modern design inspired by Moniek Vanden Berghe. Mikado reeds and steel grass are threaded through the oasis to form the basic structure. The design also features Veronica, Ornithogalum, Singapore Orchids, Phalaenopsis Okayama and cork and Beargrass squares.

Fabulous shapes, colours and textures. Modern and contemporary.

Sea horse test tubes are attached using coloured reel wire.

Mikado reeds can be used in all sorts of different contemporary constructions and are used by most European Designers. The reeds are a natural colour and very flexible.

Contemporary & Limited Wooden Cross

Beautifully natural and elegant. Created from forest floor twigs and branches. A simple line of Calla lilies, Hydrangea petals and two Royal Blue Vanda's create this exquisite funeral tribute.

Simplicity and minimal use of materials.

Plenty of depth and movement in the structure due to the curvy nature of the materials.

Structured Halloween Design

A modern structured Halloween design using 'Mamma Mia' Gerbera, Chinese Lanterns, Gourds and paper roses.

Twigs wrapped in black wool, colourful cable ties and test tubes also feature in this bright and playful structure.

Competition - Vintage Wrist Corsage

This semi-crescent wired design was produced for a BFA competition. The brief was to create a wrist corsage to be worn on the catwalk of a vintage fashion show. The vintage inspired materials I used included Scabiosa, cream Hypericum, Dendrobium Orchids, wild statice and a variety of garden foliage.

A black lace collar helps to frame the design.

A wonderful contrast in textures.

Anthurium Table Centre

A colourful and textured contemporary table centre. Ideal for placing a hurricane lamp in the centre. Materials include mini Anthurium, Craspedia, Sword Fern, Phalaenopsis, Pampus Grass, bark and moss.

Edged with a strip of two tone wool to cover the oasis base.

Fantastic textures, colours and shapes create movement.
